Tignes – In Summer
Tignes is part of the Espace Killy ski area in the French Alps, with ski terrain ranging from 1550m at its lowest point to just under 3500m at the top of the glaciers.
Such a great place to be in the summer, perhaps I will brave the winter snow sometime!
Rob looking Pro
This was captured a little while from the eye of the needle, one of the highest points of my time over there.
This is one of my favourite captures of the trip. Certainly gives perspective of how vast these mountains are!
Jamie eyeing up a run
A perfect time to capture a rider thinking, beneath him is a vast mountain range and a long drop down.
I really liked this shot, as it follows a lot of the “rules” though not quite, and that is what makes this image for me.
Tignes from above
You can soon find yourself up in the tops looking down on to the mountain bottoms. With a range of lifts and walking routes this can be sooner than you think!
In summer you will find many routes to suit you walking choices, and if you are a keen mountain biker there are plenty of runs to suit.
When they say it is a black run they mean it! I could hardly walk up or down some of the runs while taking photos for the Mountain Sun Team.
What an amazing set of people and staff!
The staff here where amazing, friendly and kind, will happy smiles all day, and who would blame them in this location!
The rooms where awesome, clean, and the bed where great.
Meal times where great, not the usually individual seats, but more of a “family” sit down where you can meet other people and socialise.
Not to mention the view of Mont Blanc in the distance!
Tignes – Le Lac
This is the view from the chalet, looking down onto a lake that is filled with the most amazing coloured water, absolutely breathtaking.
